Choupette Social Girl (CSG): Tell me about the new products.
Kevin Murphy (KM): This is all about spring/summer hair. In summer you have to go by the weather and see what you can pull off in the heat. You could look great and 10 minutes later you’re all frizzy. In most places, summer is a hard time to look really chic. We have a leave-in conditioner (Leave-In Repair) to penetrate the cuticles of the hair and seals them closed to prevent frizz.
CSG: I see a shimmery bottle over there. What’s that gem?
KM: The Shimmer Me Blonde is a cosmetic approach to hair. A lot of times blonde tends to go yellow and women think “oh, I should’ve done my purple shampoo today”. The Shimmer Me Blonde uses light reflective particles like a highlighter. It’s like 1,000 lilac mirrors and 1,000 silver mirrors to give the appearance of shine and take that yellow tone out. It has both long-term and short-term cosmetic benefits.
CSG: I’ve heard all about your Young Again Treatment Oil but am wary of oils weighing down my hair. Should I try it?
KM: When women do Balayage and color the top and hair grows out, the hair on the ends gets quite dry. When you apply the Young Again Treatment Oil it targets one part of the hair like you do when you multi-mask your face picking selective spots. With Aloe in it, it’s quite soothing but the formula doesn’t weigh the hair down.
KM: The Keratin Protein mimics the hairs protein structure. Cocoa Seed Butter adds protection and it seals in the ends, especially if they are split.
CSG: What does your motto “Skincare for Your Hair” mean?
KM: Nobody has the same hair just like they don’t have the same skin. The products are personalized for the individual. It’s not about trends.
