Jordana Schrager is the owner and designer of by Jordana LLC and a young creative mind to keep on your radar. With a major in Art and Design and a minor in Business, these twenty-something started designing sneakers in high school. She has since expanded from designing for friends to major celebrities like Nick Cannon, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, and P!NK, corporate companies such as Taco Bell, Baked by Melissa, and Jamba Juice, and charities such as the Best Foot Forward, the GRAMMY Foundation, and St. Mary’s Hospital. With a twinge of envy for her creative mind, I had to pick it!
Choupette Social Girl: How did you get started designing sneakers?
Jordana Schrager: I started designing sneakers in high school and at first it was just for fun and made myself a pair. I wore them to school the next day and I started receiving orders around my town for custom sneakers. It grew into a business on its own!
CSG: Do you have an art background?
JS: I have always loved art and design and I actually studied art and design in college and minored in business. It all helped grow by Jordana.
CSG: Tell me about the latest Peace & Love Collection.
JS: The new collection comes out December 1, 2016. It’s our first launch and we are doing slip-on style sneakers as well as 3 styles of phone cases for all iPhone sizes and one Peace & Love legging.
CSG: Who are your celebrity clients? Dish!
JS: I’ve made sneakers for Miley Cyrus who wore them backstage at the VMAs. I’ve also made sneakers for Selena Gomez and I worked with the Barclay Center in Brooklyn to create sneakers as gifts for their performing artists. I’ve also made them for Ariana Grande, Nick Cannon and some others.
CSG: Where do you see the collection going? Any ideal collaborations?
JS: I want to create new designs each season and come out with new prints, launch new products, add more fashion, more accessories and eventually more sneaker styles. I always say if I got big enough, I’d love to collaborate with Target because they always collaborate with the top designers and I think that’d be amazing. I love Target!
