During NYFW I was lucky enough to stop in to one of my favorite lifestyle brand, GiGi NY’s Meatpacking pop-up shop. Always a fan through Instagram because of my obsession with monograming, I took the opportunity to prance around the store picking up a few things for Daddy and my château. There is something so satisfying about seeing your initials on everything from a clutch to a cocktail shaker. So call me vain!
Every brand must have an intrinsic element that defines it, a thread that leads back to its origin. For GiGi it was Bennett Glazer, the Graphic Image founder, a book designer/typographer by trade (AKA a man after Daddy Karl Lagerfeld’s own heart). While Bennett never designed a handbag in his life, his footprint is in a GiGi bag. Shapes that conform to the eye’s wishes; colors identifiable by something favorable in the past, and style that may not be new but is refreshing and timeless. Between their library of fashion books, handbags galore, pet collars, leases and bags, and home decor, GiGi’s Instagram world has come to life in NYC.
GiGi’s Meatpacking Pop-up is located on 875 Washington Street and is open until the end of September Monday – Saturday 11am – 7pm and Sunday 12pm – 6pm. Between September 1st-30th they are offering in-store personalization available every Thursday and Saturday, which means you too can be as self-obsessed as moi!
